Jesus’ Life &

1 In my first book I told you,
Theophilus, about everything Jesus began to do and teach
2 until the day he was taken up to heaven after giving
his chosen apostles further instructions through the Holy Spirit.
Resurrection/ Jesus is my resurrection
3 During the forty days after his crucifixion, he
appeared to the apostles from time to time, and he proved to them in many ways
that he was actually alive. And he talked to them about the Kingdom of God.
The Holy Spirit/ I have the Holy Spirit
4 Once when he was eating with them, he commanded them,
“Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I
told you before.
5 John baptized with water, but in just a few days you
will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
The Kingdom of
God I
live in another Kingdom
6 So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking
him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”
7 He replied, “The Father alone has the authority to set
those dates and times, and they are not for you to know.
Power &
Mission I have God’s power to fulfill my mission
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes
upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in
Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The coming King My
King is coming again
9 After saying this, he was taken up into a cloud while
they were watching, and they could no longer see him. 10 As they strained to
see him rising into heaven, two white-robed men suddenly stood among them. 11
“Men of Galilee,” they said, “why are you standing here staring into heaven?
Jesus has been taken from you into heaven, but someday he will return from
heaven in the same way you saw him go!”

Theophilus- Greek name, Gentile convert who wants to know
more lot about Jesus. AHigh Ranking Roman officials- title most excellent (Luke
1)- The Roman empire… a formidable foe, but little by little, conquered by the
teaching & life of Jesus

Who is the Holy Spirit? 3rd person of Trinity,
God himself in you & me…
Baptized means…to be immersed, dipped…Part of the Holy
Spirit
John’s water baptism-symbol of being washed & to be a
follower God
Holy Spirit- presence of God/ The H S is in you, not only
with you…
Applicationss: Wherever you are, whatever you are
encountering, you are not alone. We have the HS in us.
With all your what you are going through, we are not
alone…
Have you received the HS…. Yes when you received Christ
This is a “Transition” period that’s why receiving the
Holy Spirit is another time.
We need to be careful to live our lives for we can grieve
the Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:28-32 The Message
28 Did you use to make ends meet by stealing?
Well,
no more! Get an honest job so that you can help others who can’t work.
29 Watch the way you talk.
Let
nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth.
Say
only what helps, each word a gift.
30 Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his
heart. His Holy Spirit,
moving and breathing in you,
is
the most intimate part of your life,
making you fit for himself.
Don’t take
such a gift for granted.

We know of two present Kingdoms
1.Restoring the Kingdom under Israel (literal)
2.Under the General Kingdom of God right now as He sovereignly
rules the Heaven & the Earth.
We live in two Li two worlds
Ex. Science Fiction/ Star wars, Star Trek, Matrix
Super Heroes:
Thor, Superman
Applications: how do you see this world? Is it all that
there is….
We follow God rather belief systems of the worlds
Ex.
1.There is no God
2. Life after death?
Or Reincarnation, just going to oblivion
Should we just
eat, drink & be merry for tomorrow we die
Is there a greater
purpose in life? Who am I?
Power &
Mission I have God’s power to fulfill my mission
8 But you will receive power when the Holy
Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people
about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends
of the earth.”
Power: Dynamite! We need, …enemy is strong…
Witness: saw & experience….
Strategy: Jerusalem
to the ends of the world -Rome
Applications:
The Holy Spirit is going to help us in this world….
Tell others what I am doing in your life…marriage
children, job business finances, studies, but most of all your relationship w/
me.
Prepare yourself to be a clean vessel….don’t quench the Holy
Spirit
2 Timothy 2
19 …“All who belong to the Lord must turn
away from evil.”
20 In a wealthy home some utensils are made
of gold
and silver, and some are made of wood and clay.
The
expensive utensils are used for special occasions,
and
the cheap ones are for everyday use.
21 If
you keep yourself pure,
you will be a special utensil for honorable use.
Your
life will be clean,
and
you will be ready for the Master
to use you for every good work.

A lot of times we wish in this world, a government that
is caring, loving
Who are really concerned for the people…not just amassing
wealth…
Officials that are not corrupt
Judges that are fair & cant be bribe
Well, that is coming.
Revelation 19:11 The Message (MSG)
11-16 Then I saw
Heaven open wide—and oh! a white horse and its Rider. The Rider, named Faithful
and True, judges and makes war in pure righteousness.
In Some South East Asian Countries where we worked: Look
what they’ve done to your Church, closed down, confiscated , burned,
Abducted & executed your ministers
IN America- removed your 10 commandments, prayers, Bible
teaching replaced w/ evolution, & whatever we call advance teaching &
morality w/o God…We have removed “In God we trust” on $1 coin.
